OUR
STORY

BERND & SHARON WOLF
Husband-and-wife team Bernd and Sharon Wolf bring more than 50 years of combined hospitality experience to FLINT, shaped by careers across the UK, Europe and the United States.
Sharon built her career front of house, working in hotels and restaurants across the UK and Switzerland. Her experience, warmth and attention to detail have always been central to the way they run their restaurants and to the kind of welcome they want guests to feel at FLINT.
Bernd’s love of food began on his family farm in Bavaria, where he learned home cooking from his mother and traditional butchery from his grandfather. After classical chef training in Germany, his career took him through leading hotels and restaurants in Germany, London, Washington D.C. and Switzerland, including kitchens recognised at Michelin-starred level.
The pair met while working in Switzerland and later returned to England, eventually owning and running Torquay’s award-winning Orange Tree Restaurant for almost 12 years. After moving to West Yorkshire, they created another restaurant from the ground up and spent seven years building a loyal following around accomplished food and genuine hospitality.
Missing the coast and the life they had known in Torquay, Bernd and Sharon decided it was time to return.
FLINT is the next chapter. A neighbourhood restaurant shaped by everything they have learned along the way, with Bernd in the kitchen, Sharon front of house and a shared focus on good food, thoughtful service and making people feel genuinely welcome.
